Show Your Google Calendar On Windows Desktop

If you have a busy work and social life, it can be difficult trying to keep track of everything you need to do and the places you need to be, and meetings you have. To make things easier, it is important to have access to a high quality and intuitive calendar. One of the best, and certainly most popular, is the Google Calendar.

Most people with an Android smartphone will have easy access to the Google Calendar, but what if you spend some of your time on your Windows computer? The good news is that you don’t need to constantly log into your Gmail account or Google. In the following post, we will look at several quick and easy ways you can set up access to Google Calendar on your Windows desktop.

Through the Microsoft Outlook App

Do you use Windows mail a lot for work and other purposes, but want the benefit of the Google Calendar? This can be done, but you need to carry out the following steps –

First, get the link to your Google Calendar in the iCal format. This is found on the Google Calendar website. On the sidebar on the left-hand side, click on the Options tab and choose Settings and sharing. You will be taken to another screen where you should be able to scroll and locate the Integrate calendar option. Copy the link that is given in the box marked Secret Address in iCal format.

Now open Microsoft Outlook and click Calendar from the left-hand sidebar and click on the Home tab and Add. Now, pick From Internet and paste the iCal link into the small dialog box that comes up and click ok. You will be asked to confirm if you want to connect your calendar. Click yes and you’re done.

On the sidebar at the left-hand side of the screen in the calendar section of Outlook, you will see the Google Calendar option. Check the accompanying box to view it alongside other calendars.

Through the Calendar App

There is a default calendar on all Windows Computers that allows you to connect to different calendar accounts, including Google. When using it for the first time, you can follow the prompts to add Google during this process. If it is already set up, go to the app and click Settings and Manage Accounts.

Now, pick Add Account and then Google from the choices. You will be prompted to sign in to your account, and once you have connected your account you will be asked to confirm the process, click Done, and then you can go back to Calendar.

Click on the Expand option at the top left and check the box next to the Google account you added. Hey presto, you will have access to it this way.

Through SyncGo Calendar

If the two options above sound a little time-consuming and you want an easier option, you could always use the high-quality sync that SyncGo Desktop Calendar offers. As well as helping you to sync your Google desktop calendar, it can also sync your iCloud calendar (if you use one) too, so that the Windows, Google, and iCloud calendars are all in the same place. Making it a lot easier to keep track of where you should be and what you should be doing at all times.
